Hallo zusammen,

PDFCreator Action Print does not automatically print

I installed the latest version for testing on latest Windows 10 version 1909. PDFCreator is version 4.0.4.
I cannot get PDFCreator to automatically print the document. It will print if I set the Print action to Select Printer Before Printing. If I select the Print action to Default Printer or a specific Windows printer (HP Laserjet Pro M478dn in my case) it does not print.

My profile is set with actions for Print the document and then email it to a preset email address. The email works fine but I cannot get the auto printing to work.

I checked the folders for Security settings. They were OK.

Any ideas?

PDFCreator installer and user consent

@wally1 wrote:

Hi PDFCreator team,

I took the trouble of registering on this forum because over the years I've used PDFCreator, and it has been a wonderful product. However it has become clear in recent months that your philosophy has changed.

The installer/updater for PDFCreator is now using a deliberately confusing interface to trick people into installing PDF Architect, and worse, various browser extensions/home page rewrites etc. The options to skip this are deliberately obfuscated and/or hidden behind hard-to-find settings icons.

This is not cool. It's a violation of the trust and confidence that so many users have placed in your product and your company. There are other ways to upsell that don't require underhanded tactics like this.

I'm sorry to say that I've had enough of this and have stopped using PDFCreator because at this point your installer is basically malware. If you do ever change your philosophy to be less abusive to your users, then I'll come back, because I really like your product. That's why I've taken the time to give you this feedback.

All the best.

pdfcreator 4.0.4 standalone (NO server). At the office we have many PCs with different OS (Win7 to Win10), ALL of them have MicrosoftOffice Word 2003. At the end of a mail we usually add a digitalized stamp image and signature image (gif with transparency for the background). The generated PDF have very very bad image quality, with blurring edges. I have tested 150 to 600 dpi images, i tried to turn off postscript output, I tried with high quality output ... NO WAY: the PDF is uggly ! The strangest thing is that I don't have the same problem with my home PC (6 year old, Acer Laptop, Win8.1). The same pdfcreator 4.0.4, the same images, the same DPI, the same MicrosoftOffice Word 2003: the output PDF is PERFECT ! PLEASE, HELP !

My company are considering buying PDF Creator PRO for some of our production equipment. The equipment completes a cycle. On completion the machine automatically triggers a printout.

What we would like PDF creator PRO to do is 1) Print out a PDF and a hard copy to a defined local folder, this I know will work I have tested this its also covered on the forum. 2) Append the time and date to the PDF file name prior to saving. 3) This is completed automatically without the user needing to interface with the machine. Point 2 and 3 I do not see this covered on the forum.

Automate PDF printing from Revit

@clogboy wrote:

I'm writing a batch PDF printing add-in (C#) for Autodesk Revit (a 3D CAD program). It is important to notice that the Print command has to be given through Revit's own API and that it's not possible to convert a drawing or a document to PDF in another way. So my best way to go about this is to alter the settings of the active print job itself through the comwrapper.

I've read several topics dealing with printing automation, and as I understand it, the best way to do it is to get access to the printing queue of the PDFcreator, and change the profile settings of the next job to automatically save it to a filename and -path without confronting the user with the PDFcreator user interface. Is this correct? From a newb perspective, what would be the best approach, in terms of accessing the job profile and changing the settings? Would I do this before or after the job is submitted to the print queue?

As a shortcut, would it be easier to create a profile (programmatically) and set that for the specific print job?

Thanks in advance.

PDFCreator Server Support Non Existant

We are currently trialing PDFCreator Server.

I raised a support case via the Web Form and got a reply back from support@pdfforge.org back on 30/04 and subsequently provided screenshots and debug logs.

I've chased a couple of times now since, and have still not got a reply from support. It appears I'm simply being ignored.

If the issue can be resolved and we can prove our POC, we will likely purchase the product, but as Support appears to be non existent we will likely be looking for an alernative product following the weekend.

Not good.

Upgrade problems from 3.5.1 to 4.0.x

@XanderVR wrote:

Hi,

I am running into problems when trying to upgrade PDFCreator Business 3.5.1. to PDFCreator Professional 4.0.4

We deploy 3.5.1 through GPO with an MST to supply the license.
When I add the 4.0.4 package the software installation takes a long time (on my PC it took almost half an hour) just to find out that the 3.5.1 was removed and 4.0.4 was not installed.

When I run it locally using msiexec andf /qn it also takes a long time, but doesn't install anything in the end.
When I run it without /qn I first get a message stating that there is an error installing the printers, followed by a rollback.
When I try it again I get a message stating that something went wrong during installation, followed by a rollback.
Using msiexec with /qn and MST on the 3.5.1 MSI takes 2 minutes and everything is installed without issues.

I'm running WIndows 10 Pro, and have .NET Framework 4.8 installed.

PDFCreator printer not installed 4.0.4

I had a running PDFCreator 3.5
I thought it was a good idea to upgrade to 4.0.4
I had to uninstall 3.5 before running the setup for 4.0.4
After installation the program says that the PDFCreator printer was not installed.
I uninstalled PDF Creator with Revo uninstaller and got rid of all files linked to PDF Creator.
I reinstalled with the option "Run as administrator" .
Still no PDFCreator printer. The program offers to repair but fails.
What is wrong? 3.5 had a PDFCreator printer.
After uninstalling 4.0.4 I reverted to 3.5 and it works! The installation does install the PDFCreator printer.
I run W10 Pro (64) with the latest updates.

PDFCreator Free v4.0.4 Offline Install

@AlexG wrote:

Hello!

I am using AutoIT + SCCM to deploy an automated package to install PDFCreator Free, the latest version. But when it runs under SCCM context, the installer tries to connect to the internet and download something(?) and then fails out. Giving an internet connection error, and I can't seem to tell it to ignore the error with some AutoIT keystrokes. It just closes the installer when clicking "Okay".

Is there any way to run the latest installer in an "Offline" mode, where it doesn't need an internet connection? Or if it does absolutely need an internet connection - which sites does it need to contact? I've found this URL pulling some things apart: https : // flow.lavasoft . c o m

It connects to whatever it needs just fine, and installs so long as its not running under the SCCM-admin context. But I need it to run in SCCM context to deploy it to non-admin users.

Thank you very much for any help,
-Alex

**Hello,
I am having the same issue as the "No printers installed" posted (not able to link)

I am getting the same errors as they did and the PDFCreator is not listed in my Printers. I have have tried about 20 possible solutions suggested by you in the forums. It seems like the driver is just missing like it was for this person? Can you please send the printer driver to install? That fixed the issue for them.

ok great, then we can get started troubleshooting the issue. First please run cmd.exe as administrator and navigate to the PDFCreator folder (by entering cd “C:\program files\PDFCreator”).
Now, run printerhelper.exe /uninstallprinter
Does this work, or does it already create error messages?

C:\Program Files (x86)\PDFCreator>printerhelper.exe /uninstallprinter
