Hi, I use PDF Creator to create soft copies of labels to email to our warehouse in another city. Typically, each label is unique so my label software creates each page as a separate print job that I later merge.
The problem I found today is that PDF Creator had an update notification for each one of those 97 pages. I'm stuck with 32bit Windows because of our ERP system so memory can be an issue and having 97 print jobs and 97 update notifications at the same time pretty much ground everything to a halt. My PC was unresponsive for 10-15 minutes while I waited for the print jobs to catch up with the notifications. Thankfully, it didn't crash because it takes a while to get up and running again.
I've turned off the notifications to keep this from happening again. I thought you might want to be aware of this if you want people to stay current and for others not to have the same problem.
Thank you.
edit: Today it got worse. This time I had 167 each of print jobs, update notifications and error reports. Once I finally cleaned that up, I checked and found updates had been turned back on. I fixed that, ran a single page and checked again to make sure updates were still turned off (they were) and went back to work. Nope, here we go again. After I cleaned that up, I checked and updates were back on. So basically, I have no choice but to set work aside so I can get the update I don't need because it's already cost me nearly an hour and I can't get anything done until I do.
edit 2: It screwed up the update so I lost my printers and settings I had done with this program.

I'm trying to create a PDF formatted for an thermal receipt printer with 80mm roll feed paper but can't select roll feed type paper in the PostScript Custom Page Size Definition settings for the printer created by PDFCreator.

A bit more information about the setup -
I'm routing an end of day report from a POS system though a printer created by PDFCreator. The reason for this is I want a copy of the report emailed to the owner whenever an employee closes their shift while also printing the physical copy.
My solution to this was to create a printer in PDFCreator tied to a profile that runs a batch script. The batch script prints the resulting PDF on the thermal receipt printer. The batch file also handles the email portion using a command line utility as well (I could never get the Send over SMTP feature to work with gmail).
This whole setup works pretty well except for the roll feed paper type issue. I've had to resort to defining a set height, but this presents an issue when there is a busy shift and the bottom gets cropped off (it's also wasting paper when it's a slow shift).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

With the current version of PDFCreator, is there a way to force it to create an older version of PDF? In particular, we are looking for 1.4, when this version is creating 1.7.

I am using 1.7.0, the latest version of the old feature set that I can find. I use it because I often make complex documents, printing pages from one place with pages from another. The old version makes it easy to create a single PDF from original documents that are not easy to combine otherwise. I'm curious is there are any plans to make 2.X support the old 1.X features? I understand that the rewrite was necessary, and while it is certainly prettier and you get a document out of it with less fuss than before, most of the functionality that was in 1.X still seems to be missing. Am I just not seeing where it is exposed?

Hallo zusammen,

Dear all,
Cool tool!
Would very much like to provide a recipient's email address by way of a token in the document, or even better, in the document's file name (say in brackets).
It appears that one should be able to have a token such as:
[[[UserTokenName:targetEmail abc@de.com]]] somewhere in the document and then in the settings under send email section assign the token in the recipient field.
However, it does not seem to work. If I print a document (containing the token info) neither does Outlook show any recipient email address in the respective field (the field stays emtpy) nor is the UserTokenTag removed from the document.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Moin!
Dann könnte man dies dafür verwenden, z.B.
Danke!

Hi.
I'm trying to run pdf creator in batch mode, creating a scheduled task with the "run whether or not logged in" option checked. It works fine when I uncheck that option, but doesn't work when checking this option. As this will be run in a server it doesn't make sense to be logged on all the time.
After a lot of research I've come to this old thread (forums.pdfforge.org/t/scheduled-task-windows-2008-r2/7027) so it seems it's a known problem, and I would like to know if:
A: We can expect this to work in the near future
B: There is any other solution to make this option work (maybe registered version?)
Thanks very much for your help.
Kind Regards.

Hallo!

Hello, I am using:
- PDF Creator v 2.4.1. build 13
- Windows 10 64bit
- Chrome Version 55.0.2883.87 m (64-bit)
I have an issue. When I save pdf from Chrome (i.e. print something using pdf creator to pdf), I cannot select any content from that pdf fie, although there is Content Copying Allowed in Document Security Properties...
I have double checked setting, but I did not find wrong setting, so I guess that is issue of PDF Creator.

Hi!
I'm a long time user of PDFCreator. I have recently started using (a licenced copy of) PDFCreator on a terminal server. The problem is that when we uncheck the "Open PDF files with Architect" under Actions-Open in the profile settings, the created PDFs are not opened at all. Nothing happens. The default open action in Windows is Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, and all PDFs are opened in this program - except for PDFs opened from PDFCreator.
Does anyone have any idea how to solve this? Please help me fix this annoying problem.

Hi,
I want to use your COM Interface to create PDFs and also print them optionally on a physical printer. With the function Printing.Enable and Printing.PrinterName it works very charming. The problem ist that the size of the document which is send to the printer is very big. For a example a document of 20 Pages gets up to 2gig. So printing needs of course very long.
So the questions is if this is a problem of the COM Interface or do I have to do any additional settings?
Thanks

Good afternoon.
I use PDF Creator through Excel 2016 VBA on Win10 Pro.
It occurred a couple of times the corruption of standard profiles.
I mean, the profiles are still there, but guids and names in the registry are lost, in the settings windows the dropdown shows empty places instead of pdf ones.
Only jpeg and tiff profiles are still there.
After re-install PDF Creator the program turns normal.
I was working with my custom profile, but after the first reinstall I decided to work only with the standard ones.
Comments or suggestions are welcome.
